Are you anticipating the release of the iPhone 5? Here is what you can expect? iPhone 5 release date The iPhone 4S was a bit of a bitter disappointment for millions of people around the globe as it was quite similar to the iPhone 4. Not too many people liked the way that the Apple iPhone 4S kept the same exact design as the now aged iPhone 4, considering that the Apple iPhone 4 was released sixteen before the release of the iPhone 4S. If not for the faster dual core new A5 processor chip and the intelligent virtual assistant in Siri, the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S would have pretty much been the same exact phone. Though Apple sold more than 4 Million iPhone 4S handsets within just two days of its launch, it has to be stated that many more thousands actually passed on the possible upgrade to the Apple iPhone 4S, preferring to wait it out for the iPhone 5. In the following sections, we will discuss the possible specs that might be featured in the Apple iPhone 5 and will also lightly touch upon the launch date of the iPhone 5, due to be released in 2012. iPhone 5 news

iPhone 5 specifications (Expected)
iPhone 5 4G LTE

3G is fast becoming obsolete, with 4G HSPA+ and LTE networks replacing 3G at a very quick rate. 4G LTE speeds can result in insane download speeds of up to 30 Mega Bits per second, which makes 3G look like a sloth crossing a road. Considering the truth that 4G LTE has taken off quite amazingly, in terms of reception by the public, Apple would be making a huge mistake if the iPhone 5 does not come with 4G LTE support. Jobs was also very adamant about the 3.5 inch screen as he felt that bigger screens would mean less battery life. Compromised battery life just didn't fit into Job's idea of a cell phone as all of Apple's products have been well known for their above average battery life. According to him, the only solution to the problem would then be to increase the size of the battery although that will require design modifications that are just not feasible, considering that Apple makes some of the most stylish electronic gadgets.

Another problem with a larger screen on the iPhone 5 is that a larger screen will make it very difficult for Apple to retain the retina display resolution that the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S currently boast of. If the screen is going to be larger than 3.5 inches, it would naturally be difficult to pack in the same amount of pixels per square inch, thereby compromising the quality of the display's resolution. Since retina display resolution is almost impossible on a 4 inch screen or a 4.5 inch screen, Apple might be inclined to keep the size at the previous design's 3.5 inches, that have been featured in all the previous 5 generations of iPhones.

When could the iPhone 5 possibly be released?

Apple has never been the type of company that has announced the release date of their gadgets in advance. So, we pretty much have to guess at a probable release date. There are a few who suggest that the next iPhone will be launched in June of 2012. However, the June, July release date is usually reserved for the iPad launches. With many rumors suggesting that the next generation iPad has entered production stage, it is very likely that the iPhone 5 will not be launched in June or July of 2012, along with the release of the next generation iPad.

Just about a month ago, we read a reputed blog that said that the iPhone 5 launch or release date has unofficially been set as October 5, 2012. The date falls exactly on the first death anniversary of Jobs, suggesting that Apple Inc. have decided to release the next iPhone as a way to pay tribute to its beloved founder. We agree that October 5, 2012 is the most likely launch date of the iPhone 5 as the date also coincides with the traditional release date of Apple gadgets in the fall season, with Apple trying to release out a product just before the holiday shopping season, where people are most likely to shell out about $300 or $400 on an Apple gadget.

Other possible features in the iPhone 5

Apart from 4G LTE, a bigger screen and an October launch date for the next iPhone, the other significant news about the iPhone 5 has to do with the choice of processor and OS. There have been quite a few rumors that have seemed to suggest that the next generation iPhone is going to receive a ultra fast quad core A6 processor, along with a much more sophisticated and easy to use IOS6. But, there are also some who believe that the iPhone 5 will retain the same dual core, A5 processor that has been used in the iPhone 4S.

If you asked us, we would say that a quad core processor would really be superfluous for a cell phone like the next generation iPhone. No mobile phone really needs the computing power of quad core processing, at least not for the average mobile phone user. If anything the clock speed of the A5 processor might be increased in the iPhone 5 model. But, we are pretty hopeful that the OS will receive an update as there have been several rumors that have mentioned that the ios6 will support some powerful features such as NFC compatibility, facial unlocking technology, panoramic camera mode and so on.
